Learn Nyrava, end to end

A single walkthrough for getting your account set up, connecting AI providers, running your first case, and training your whole team to use it well.

Overview & who this is for

This guide is the fastest path from a brand-new Nyrava account to a firm that runs cases confidently and trains new hires without hand-holding. It's written for whoever is standing the platform up — usually a Firm Admin or Admin — but every section notes what each role on your team actually needs to know.

~15 minutes
To create your account, add a key, and launch your first case.
No AI expertise required
Nyrava's defaults work out of the box; provider keys are optional tuning.
Built for teams
Role-based access means each person only sees what their job requires.

1. Set up your account

  1. 1
    Create your account
Go to Sign In → Sign Up using your work email address, not a personal Gmail/Outlook/Yahoo address.
  2. 2
    Firm grouping happens automatically
Nyrava recognizes your email domain and groups you with everyone else at your firm who signs up the same way — there's no workspace name to set up.
  3. 3
Accept the Terms of Service & Privacy Policy
Required once per account. Review the Trust Center if your firm needs it for a vendor security review.
  4. 4
Confirm your email and sign in
You'll land on the Command Center dashboard — this is home base for every case.
Use your firm's email domain
Firm grouping is based on the domain in your email address (e.g. everyone @yourfirm.com). Personal email providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) are excluded from this, so signing up with a personal address won't group you with your colleagues.

2. Add your AI provider keys

This step is optional — Nyrava works out of the box on its built-in providers. Add your own keys if your firm has an existing OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, or OpenRouter relationship, wants direct billing, or has a compliance requirement to use its own vendor account.

  1. 1
    Open Settings → API Keys
    Available to Admin and above.
  2. 2
    Paste your provider key
Nyrava validates the key immediately and encrypts it at rest with AES-256-GCM before storing it.
  3. 3
    Repeat for additional providers (optional)
Configuring more than one lets the router fail over automatically if a provider errors or throttles.
  4. 4
Leave it blank if you're not sure yet
You can add keys later — nothing blocks you from running a case in the meantime.
Direct billing
When you use your own key, that provider bills your firm directly under its own pricing. Nyrava's subscription covers the platform, not model tokens. Full detail on the API keys page.

3. Invite your team & assign roles

Go to Admin → Team & Seats to invite teammates by email. They don't set a password or fill anything out ahead of time — they just sign up normally with that same email address, and the moment they do, they land in your firm with the role you picked. Everyone starts as a Standard User by default until a role is assigned. Nyrava uses five tiers, from broadest to narrowest:

Super Admin
Unrestricted control of the platform — billing, providers, and all users.
Admin
Manages cases, users, and AI providers within the firm.
Firm Admin
Firm-level access and configuration; typically the first account created.
Case Manager
Creates and runs cases day to day — uploading, running the pipeline, exporting reports.
Standard User
Reviews findings, verifies citations, and uses generated drafts as a starting point.
Seats are tied to your plan
Solo includes 1 seat, Firm includes 10, and Enterprise defaults to 50 (custom counts available on request). The invite form shows how many seats you have left and blocks new invites once you're at your limit — upgrade from Admin → Team & Seats to add more.
Start narrow
Invite people as Standard User or Case Manager by default and promote to Firm Admin only when they actually need to manage billing, providers, or other people's roles. It's easy to widen access later — harder to audit after the fact.

4. Run your first case

  1. 1
Click New Case from the dashboard
Name it using an internal-facing label — it's only visible inside your firm's account.
  2. 2
    Pick a case type
Criminal, civil, appellate, family, tax, etc. This determines which intelligence engines run.
  3. 3
    Upload the full record
Drag in the entire production. Scanned PDFs and photographed exhibits run through OCR automatically.
  4. 4
    Click Run Pipeline
Engines execute in sequence — Evidence → Timeline → Witness → Constitutional → Strategy → Motion (if requested) → Report. Progress streams live.
  5. 5
Open the panels as they complete
Evidence, Timeline, Witness, and Constitutional findings appear as each engine finishes — you don't have to wait for the whole run.

5. What to expect from results

Nyrava produces findings, not verdicts. Here's what a first run typically surfaces and how long it takes:

Cited findings
Every finding links back to the exact source passage — click any citation to see it in context.
A reconstructed timeline
Events pulled from across the record, ordered and cross-referenced automatically.
Contradictions & clusters
Witness statements grouped and checked against each other for inconsistencies.
Draft work product
Motions and reports are first drafts grounded in the record — a starting point, not a filing.
Larger productions take longer
Indexing and analysis scale with corpus size. A few hundred pages typically finishes in minutes; very large productions uploaded in batches will keep indexing in the background while earlier batches are already searchable.

6. Reviewing & verifying findings

Nyrava is built to be checked, not trusted blindly. Before anything leaves your desk:

  • Click through citations on any finding you plan to rely on — confirm the source says what the summary claims.
  • Reject or edit findings that need attorney judgment; Nyrava flags likely issues, it doesn't make legal conclusions.
  • Treat generated motions and reports as first drafts — review and revise before filing or sending.

This mirrors Nyrava's own Responsible AI principles and AI Transparency commitments — worth a read before rolling this out firm-wide.

7. Getting the best results

  • Upload the full record, not excerpts. Contradiction detection, witness clustering, and timeline reconciliation all improve with the complete corpus.
  • Use descriptive filenames and bates ranges. SMITH000123-000145_Dep_Chen.pdf resolves cleaner citations than doc7.pdf.
  • Re-run Evidence Intelligence after supplemental productions. Prior citations stay valid; new findings are appended, not overwritten.
  • Configure a second provider key if uptime matters for your workflow — the router fails over automatically.
  • Keep case types accurate. The case type controls which engines run, so a mismatched type means some analysis simply won't fire.

8. Training your team

For firm-wide rollout, don't hand new hires the whole platform at once. A short, role-based path gets people productive fastest:

  1. 1
Have them read this page first
It's the 15-minute version of everything below.
  2. 2
    Shadow one real case
Have a new user watch an experienced Case Manager run a case from upload to export before running their own.
  3. 3
Assign the narrowest role that fits the job
See the role table in step 3 — most new hires start as Standard User or Case Manager.
  4. 4
Point them at the deep-dive docs for their job
Case Managers → Running your first case & Uploading documents. Reviewers → What to expect & Reviewing findings above.
  5. 5
    Set a verification norm early
Make citation-checking part of your firm's workflow from day one — it's much harder to retrofit a habit later.
Keep this page bookmarked
The Learning Center stays current as the platform evolves — it's a good default landing page to send new hires instead of an internal wiki that goes stale.
